What is a Physical Therapist?
A physical therapist is a movement expert who improves quality of life through prescribed exercise, hands-on care, and patient education.
Why Choose Mission?
We aren’t your typical cookie cutter PT clinic. We believe that anyone with a body is able to move well and be active doing what they love. So whether your goals are to PR your back squat, get back to playing golf with your buddies pain free, keep up with your garden or to climb Mount Kilimanjaro….we all deserve to move and live the best we can!
Our approach focuses on addressing the root cause to help you get out of pain, followed by helping you optimize your recovery, performance, and injury prevention so you can get back to doing the things you love, for the long haul.
But what makes us different?
At Mission, you will be seen one-on-one with a doctor in physical therapy. You will not be shuffled off to a therapy tech or aid. Each visit will be geared specifically to your needs to help set you up with the knowledge & interventions you need to do in between visits to optimize outcomes and get quicker results.
The most important thing you will receive is knowledge and skills to keep you moving as healthy and pain free as possible. Our goal is to get you involved with your own health journey and empower you to take charge in an active recovery vs passive unknowns. We want every patient to take ownership of their situation and feel the reward of big victories one small win at a time.
How do I know if PT is right for me?
If you have difficulty or pain with daily or sport activities, you would likely benefit from PT. We offer a free screen that will help determine what areas are causing the difficulty/pain and advise you on what to do from there.
We also offer prevention and maintenance sessions which help to decrease your risk for injury and keep you performing at an optimal level.
What is FDN?
Functional Dry Needling is a therapeutic treatment procedure that utilizes thin, solid filament needles to deactivate and desensitize trigger points in muscles. Myofascial trigger points are knots in muscles that can contribute to pain, decreased flexibility and decreased muscle function.
Do I need a referral?
NC is a direct access state. This means that you do not need a referral for these services.
Do I have to be a member of the gym?
You do not need to be a member of the gym in order to receive physical therapy services.
What should I wear?
You should dress comfortably in something that we can access the area easily. Typically loose fitting gym clothes and tennis shoes - tank tops for upper body injuries and shorts for lower body injuries are recommended.
What does this cost?
Evaluations are 60 minutes / $175 and all follow ups are 30 minutes / $85. These prices include anything that you would need during the session. We have done away with the old way of adding up services for a combined higher total. Here, we provide what you need with one transparent fee.We also have discounted package options. Because we are not in network with insurance, we are not limited with their restrictions, visit limitations etc. If you would like to use your out of network insurance benefits, we will provide you with a superbill that you can file to get reimbursed.
How can I pay?
We accept cash, card, check, HSA or FSA.
Do you take insurance?
For questions like this, it is best to call to get a clear understanding as the answer is not so simple. We recommend asking for a discovery call and/or scheduling a free consultation in the clinic. These only take about 10 minutes, and we are able to fully answer all questions and provide clear information for you about insurance, price, and give advice/input on your injury.
Mission Physical Therapy is a private pay practice. We will not file claims directly with a patient's insurance company, but we will provide a detailed medical invoice if a client chooses to self-file. Clients pay at the time of service and the insurance company will reimburse the client according to their plan.
If you are planning to file your own claims, we recommend contacting your insurance company first, asking what the benefits are for an out-of-network provider, and asking what paperwork is necessary. If you would like to check your out of network benefits, please click below and enter your information. This should only take 1-2 minutes, and it will give you a good picture of what can be expected from your insurance company.
Why don’t you take insurance?
At Mission, we believe that providing one on one, doctorate level care that is patient centered is best to optimize patient outcomes.
Typically, insurance dictates therapy treatment, with most in-network PT clinics needing to see 3-4 patients an hour to be profitable. This means that most of your time is either spent with a tech doing the same cookie cutter exercises every week, or you’re not getting the intentional time you need from your PT because they are spread too thin. This also means needing to come to therapy 3-4 times/week in order to make any progress.
Being out-of-network allows us to provide you with undivided attention, typically 1x/week. We are able to treat you how we feel is best to help you reach YOUR goals without insurance dictating our every move and robbing you of the care you deserve. This way, we are able to treat the whole body as a unit and get off the hamster wheel of chasing the pain making you more efficient and resilient.
With more dedicated time, individualized & effective treatments from your doctor of PT, and teaching our patients to take ownership of their care, our clients are able to reach goals in less time, with fewer visits, and better outcomes (you won’t find cookie cutter PT here).
You won’t regret the investment you make in Mission, because it is an investment in yourself!
